Tailgating at Rice Athletics Events

Rice's on campus venues offer fans the opportunity to join together prior to games for a variety of tailgating options. Reclking Park and Rice Stadium will feature a number of new and exciting fan-friendly features for in 2008 designed to enhance every aspect of the experience of attending a Rice home game. From the new signage and banners, to the various tailgating options including "Tailgate Owley", the reserved RV parking area, the revamped concessions selections, an upgraded souvenir print program, as well as new video features on the scoreboard, football games at Rice Stadium this fall will be a new experience for all.

In 2008, Rice baseball fans will enjoy a revamped concession lineup and other new features, in addition to a state-of-the-art video information center.

As always, parking at Rice Stadium and Reckling Park is free on game in the designated lots. Football Tailgating Information and Map

No college football Saturday would be complete without tailgating, and Rice Stadium offers a number of options for Owl fans, as well as our visitors. There are several options for tailgaters to choose from, depending on the size of their group, or the size of their transportation to Rice Stadium:

  • Tailgate Owley
The official Rice Athletics tailgate area is located directly north of Rice Stadium on the Rice football practice fields. Tailgate Owley is free to enter. There is live music, inflatatable games for the kids, face painters, and a concession stand with your favorite tailgating food. Bring your blanket or chairs and join the fun. You may also rent your own private area. We supply the tent, tables, chairs, garbage cans, and linens and you bring your friends, co-workers, and guests. For reserved tent information and prices contact Nick Kallail (713.348.6930 or nkallail@rice.edu).
