Rice Baseball Team Adds Another Signee
July 19, 2007 HOUSTON -- The Rice baseball program has added one more name to the 10 recruits who signed with the Owls in the early period (November 2006) and last April, head coach Wayne Graham announced on Thursday, July 19. Andy Hamilton, a 6-foot-8 left-handed pitcher from Jesuit High School in New Orleans, brings Rice baseball's incoming class to 11. After enrolling at Rice this fall, the signees will join the team for the 2008 baseball season. Hamilton is a 6-foot-8 left-handed pitcher who helped lead Jesuit to the 2007 Louisiana class 5A state championship. The Blue Jays went 28-6 on the season. The Rice baseball class is composed of nine from the high school ranks and two from junior college. Seven are from the state of Texas and four are from the greater Houston area. The full signee list is as follows. Rice Baseball Signing Class (11) The Rice baseball team finished the 2007 season with a 56-14 record. The Owls placed third in the nation after reaching the semifinals of the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
