Saw his first action for the Owls during the 2008-09 season after transferring from the Naval Academy following his freshman season ... practiced with the Rice team throughout the season but was ineligible to play while meeting NCAA's residency rules.

2008-09: Started 27 games as a sophomore, averaging 8.3 points and a team-leading 5.0 rebounds ... led Rice in rebounding a team-high nine times during the season ... shot 47.7 percent from the field ... made 16-of-40 three-point attempts during the season (40 percent) ... also led the team with 22 blocked shots and his 46 assists from the post position ranked fourth on the team ... was in the tip-off circle for the Owls' first game played in Tudor Fieldhouse ... began his career at Rice with a 14-point, 3-rebound, 3-assist performance in the opener against Portland State ... was 5-for-7 from the field and made all four of his free throw attempts against the Vikings ... suffered a broken nose in the Lamar game and wore a protective mask for much of the season ... first game wearing the mask came at Texas where he scored seven points and had four rebounds in 22 minutes of play ... started the Owls' first 10 games then responded with nine rebounds off the bench against No. 4 Oklahoma ... also had six points and two steals against the Sooners ... registered a 10-point, seven-rebound effort at UALR ... was 4-for-5 from the field in road win in Little Rock.

At Navy: Played in all 30 games with 29 starts ... named to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team ... ranked third on the team in scoring (8.0 ppg) and second in rebounding (3.9 rpg) ... also led the team in blocked shots (24), which was the most by a Navy freshman since David Robinson blocked 37 shots in 1984 ... connected on 35 percent of his 106 three-point attempts and shot 78.4 percent from the free throw line ... scored in double-figures eight times, including five of the first 10 games, and then three of the last seven games ... did not start on senior night against American, the only game of the year he didn't start.

Had a dominant season opener, setting the school record for a player appearing in his first career game with a season-high 17 points ... also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds, blocked a shot and did not have a charged turnover nor a foul in 36 minutes of play in a win over Loyola (Md.) ... late in the contest, with Navy nursing a one-point lead, hit a deep three-pointer as the shot clock was winding down, then blocked a shot on Loyola's next possession to preserve the four-point margin ... scored 16 points in 23 minutes in a win over Brown ... tallied 15 points in a win over Maryland-Eastern Shore ... dominated Army in the Star Game win, scoring 15 points (4-of-4 shooting, all threes) with a career-high four blocks ... two of the four blocks came on Army's first three shots ... tallied 12 points vs. NCAA Tournament qualifier, Penn, which was preceded by an 11-point, four-rebound showing against Howard ... the performances earned him Patriot League Rookie of the Week accolades ... scored 12 points and had seven rebounds against American ... that showing, coupled with a five-point game at Colgate, earned him his second Patriot League Rookie of the Week award ... scored 16 points with two rebounds and a block in a key road win at Lehigh ... an outstanding passer, dished out three assists against Lafayette, American and Holy Cross ... had a clutch performance against NJIT when he hit two three-pointers in overtime, including one with 1:08 to play to give Navy a 50-48 lead, blocked a last-second Highlander attempt in regulation and had a dunk with two minutes left in regulation to cut the NJIT lead to 44-42 ... recorded at least five rebounds in 10 games.

Friendswood High School: The 2006 Friendswood graduate lettered twice in basketball ... had an outstanding senior season, earning All-Galveston County and All-Gulf Coast Region honors as a senior ... named MVP of the New Caney Tournament ... earned all-tournament accolades at the Alvin Lion's Club Tournament and was the team MVP during his junior and senior years ... was 6-foot, 3-inches as a sophomore, but grew six inches over the next two years ... averaged 16.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 3.1 bpg as a senior.
