Construction continues on Tudor Fieldhouse in advance of the arena's scheduled opening date in mid-November for the start of the Rice men's and women's basketball season.

The Rice women's team will play host to Cal State Northridge November 14th while the men open against Portland State November 15th.

Below is an update to construction:

  • Brick installation is complete on Autry Court and the North Addition.
  • Brick installation on the North face of the two story building is 60% complete.
  • Pouring of the concrete stairs for the west and east side main stairs will begin within the next few weeks.
  • Installation of window-wall-frames is ongoing at the main entry to the arena and the administration building on the north side.
  • Terrazzo flooring installation will begin in two weeks.
  • Ceramic tile installation has started in the corridors of Autry Court and new restrooms.
  • Drywall installation is 90% complete throughout the building.
  • Underground utilities in Autry Court are 98% and the elevator installation is on going.
  • Reroofing of Autry Court is ongoing and 80% and will complete within the next few weeks - weather depending.
  • The steel erection and the roof for the temporary building is complete.
  • Drawings for the Ley Plaza have been submitted for city approval.
