Rice -- Looks to battle for more playing time during the spring.
2008: Added depth to the wide receiver corps and found the end zone for the first time in his career... Made his first catch of the year at Texas, good for an eight-yard gain. Caught his first career touchdown pass vs. UTEP, 31-yards from Chase Clement to open the Owls scoring on the night... added a second catch for 10 yards later in the game to finish with two catches for 41 yards, both career-bests... Played in 11 of 13 games. 2007:Caught a pair of passes on the season while playing in four games... Made his debut against Texas Tech and made his first career reception, good for eight yards... caught his second pass at Texas, good for 11 yards. OTHER RICE SPORTS: Played in 21 games for the Owls' basketball team after injuries depleted the roster and averaged 1.6 points and 2.9 rebounds ... Fourth on the team with 24 steals, while playing in two-thirds of the team's games... Played a career-high 28 minutes at Oklahoma... Scored four points to go along with a career-high seven rebounds and six steals against the Sooners... Played in all 16 Conference USA games... Scored a career-high six points in the Owls' Conference USA opener against Marshall... Led Rice in rebounding at Tulsa with five boards to go with two assists and two blocks. 2006: Redshirt. High School -- 2006 graduate of Westfield High in suburban north Houston... All-greater Houston selection for coach Corby Meekins... Led the Mustangs to a 12-1 record and the Class 5A state semifinals... Most valuable player in District 22-5A and second-team all-state... Completed 70 of 96 passes for 1,479 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, and rushed for 308 yards and eight TDs... Threw only two interceptions in 13 games in 2005... Also a starter on Westfield's basketball team, a squad which was undefeated during the regular season... Carried a 4.3 GPA (5.0 scale)... Member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who...
