Rice: Talented performer at corner who heads into spring looking to solidify his role. 2008: Battled back from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the first six games to solidify the defensive backfield by starting the five of the last seven games at cornerback... Made his season debut vs. Southern Miss and broke up a pair of passes... Credited with three tackles, recovered a pair of fumbles (including one he forced) and broke up a pass vs. Army... Capped the year by racking up a career-high eight tackles in the Bayou Bucket win over Houston.
2007: One of six true freshmen to find the field in the opener against Nicholls... Made his starting debut against Texas and made an immediate impression in the game, grabbing a fumble in mid-air and returning it nine yards to the Longhorns' 18-yard line... Led the team with two fumble recoveries and finished the season with 28 tackles... Also made starts against Southern Miss and Marshall... Top tackle game was six on national television at Southern Miss... Recovered his second fumble in the same game... Broke up passes against Baylor and UTEP... Recorded his only tackle for loss against UTEP. High School -- 2007 graduate of Copperas Cove High School, southeast of Waco...
