Rice -- Talented two-sport star at Lamar HS in Houston who will challenge for immediate playing time.

2006: Saw playing time against Houston on special teams.

High School -- 2006 graduate of Lamar High... Two-time all-District 21-5A selection for coach Tom Nolen... Helped Lamar to district titles in 2003 and '05 and playoff bids all three varsity seasons... Had two interceptions and forced two fumbles for the Redskins' 10-1 team in '06, and had five picks and seven forces for his career... Also competed in baseball for Lamar, earning all-district honors as a senior outfielder... Had a 3.23 GPA... Elected to Who's Who Among American High School Students and volunteers with the Mayor's Youth Council... Chose Rice over New Mexico, Trinity, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Southern.
