Rice -- Fixture at left tackle for the Owls since taking over as the starter for the final five games of 2007... 17 consecutive starts ranks as the most by an Owl on the offensive line.
2008: Put together a solid season at left tackle. Started all 13 games, and closed out the regular season by holding Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Year, Phillip Hunt of Houston, to just one tackle (a sack on the last play of the first half). 2007: All C-USA Freshman selection by conference coaches... Made his debut at left tackle against Texas Tech... also saw action as a reserve in the next two games and then made his starting debut at Marshall at left tackle...Went on to start the final five games of the year. High School --- 2007 graduate of St. Mark Catholic High School in Manotick, Ontario... Late addition to the Owls 2007 recruiting class... All City and All Regional selection while playing both offensive and defensive tackle for the Lions, who finished the seson 11-0... Voted team MVP... St. Mark won the OFSAA Bowl (Ottawa Federation of School Athletic Associations) to wrap up its season... Started at defensive tackle for Canada at the NFL Global Junior Football Championships, held as part of Super Bowl XLI, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL... Canada won the gold medal, defeating the team from the US... Also played basketball and rugby in high school, as well as hockey at the club level.
