Career Statistics


2008: Made the successful transition back to the defensive line and was recognized as honorable mention All C-USA by league coaches... Started 11 of 13 games and finished with 28 tackles, while leading the defensive front with four passes broken up... Broke up a pass vs. Houston that Brian Raines intercepted and returned to set up the Owls' fourth touchdown of the day... Credited with a season-high six tackles at UTEP. ..Broke up a pair of passes at Tulane... Credited with five tackles, and shared his first sack, in his second start at DT at Memphis... credited with 2.5 sacks in the first three games of the season. Tied for second on the team with five tackles in the win over Western Michigan in the Texas Bowl.

2007: Worked all season at tight end... Made his first start of 2007 at Texas as the Owls opened in a two-tight end formation... picked up his first career catch, good for 13 yards...also caught passes for eight yards vs. both Marshall and Tulane, then caught his first career touchdown pass against Tulsa, a 24-yarder from Chase Clement. Other Rice Sports: Answered the call when the Rice men's basketball team needed players to replaced its injury-depleted ranks... averaged 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in 21 games... became one of six players last season to score points in both Division I football and basketball... had a season-high six points vs. Southern Miss while playing a season-high 25 minutes... pulled down a season-high four rebounds vs. East Carolina.

2006: Made his collegiate debut as a tight end vs. Houston. Also played as a reserve against UCLA before starting at TE against Texas when Will Moss was held out. Saw action at both OT and TE against Florida State...started again at TE at Tulane, UTEP and East Carolina.

2005: Redshirt.

High School -- 2005 graduate of The Oakridge School in Arlington... Two-way all-Southwest Preparatory Conference lineman for coaches Mike Fielder at Oakridge and Mark Diaz at L.D. Bell High in Hurst as a sophomore... Oakridge's most valuable defensive lineman in both 2003 and '04... Twice Texas Private Sports all-state team and Fort Worth Star-telegram's all-area team... Member of area top 100 lists by the Star-Telegram and Dallas Morning News... Preseason member of the top 300 list in Dave Campbell's Texas Football... Had 88 tackles, four sacks and 19 pancakes as a senior, and 144 tackles in his Oakridge career... Helped the Owls to the 2003 SPC championship... Also all-SPC in track and basketball, and second-team all-District 5-5A in basketball as a sophomore at Bell... Chose Rice over UCLA, Stanford, SMU, San Diego State, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and TCU.
