Owls Announce Non-Conference Football Schedule Changes

The dates for two of the Rice Owls four 2008 non-conference football games have been changed as part of a request from Conference USA and the television networks that cover the league. The Owls first-ever trip to Nashville to meet Vanderbilt, which had been schedule for Nov. 1, has been moved to Saturday, September 13, while the Owls game with North Texas, which had originally scheduled for that date, has been moved two weeks back, to Saturday, September 27. The remaining non-conference games on the 2008 schedule are not affected by these changes. Rice will travel to Austin to meet the University of Texas on September 20, while Army will play at Rice Stadium on November 8 as part of the annual Homecoming festivities. The remaining games on the Owls 2008 schedule will be released through the conference office in the near future.
