Extra Point Club To Send Off Owls In Style

After 45 years, the Rice Owls are going bowling.

The Greater New Orleans Sports Association officially extended an invitation on Tuesday for Todd Graham's football team to represent Conference USA in the sixth annual R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, which will be played in the Louisiana Superdome on December 22.

The Owls, who won six in a row and seven of their last eight to earn their first bowl trip since the 1961 Bluebonnet Bowl, will meet the Troy University Trojans, champions of the Sun Belt Conference, in the game that will be televised by ESPN2.

Tickets to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl remain on sale through TicketMaster

If you purchased tickets through the Rice University Ticket Office, the ticket office staff will have a Will Call on Thursday, December 21st in the Lobby of the W from 2:30 pm - 4:30pm, as well as at the SuperDome on game day.
