Aug. 27, 2008
The 2008 Rice soccer season is underway so it's time to learn a little more about the players with the fan-favorite feature Just For Kicks. After starting back-to-back games and leading a solid effort on defense last weekend, sophomore Jordan Holloway is the first Owl to take the Just For Kicks hotseat. Full name: Jordan Ashlei Holloway (link here for official Rice bio) The nickname my teammates call me: "J-Ho" My Rice College: Sid Richardson My favorite soccer player: Fernando Torres My favorite movie: Wedding Crashers My favorite web site: Riceowls.com My favorite music artist: George Strait My pet peeve: People who don't use their blinkers when they turn, or, when they turn a blinker on and forget to turn it off. My favorite snack: White Cheddar Cheez-its My favorite meal at the Rice servery: the pesto ravioli My favorite class at Rice: Nutrition I chose to attend Rice because: The combination of a great soccer team and academics. I chose my Rice number because: I have been No. 16 for most of my soccer career One athlete (non soccer player) I would like to meet is: Brady Quinn One person (non athlete) I would like to meet is: Vince Vaughn My favorite moment of my soccer career: Going to nationals with my club Who got me interested in soccer: My parents The best soccer advice I ever had: "never get out hustled" - my dad My favorite sports besides soccer: basketball and football The Rice team I like to watch play their sport: So I don't get in trouble with my roommates, I have to say volleyball. Baseball is a close second though. The most embarrassing moment or thing that ever happened to me: I claimed I could do the Soulja Boy dance last year, however it was terrible. My teammates still make fun of me for it.
I describe myself as: a hard worker and easy going My teammates think I am: unlucky Coach Huston thinks I am: intense Other than myself, the Rice Owl to keep an eye on this season: Stephanie Crain The Rice soccer player with the best non-soccer talent: Erin Scott, and her somersaults. |
